Setting up a free gift

Add a gift product to the cart automatically when the cart reaches the goal.

Last updated: November 5, 2026

A free gift isn't set up on a separate screen; it's the reward of a goal in the campaign's Goals tab. When the shopper's cart reaches the goal, the gift is added to the cart at no cost.

1. Choose the reward type

Open your campaign and go to the Goals tab. For a goal, set the Reward to Free gift, then choose the gift product with the button in the gift area. You can swap it later with the change gifts button.

In the field for how customers get the gift, decide how it's given. With automatic adding, the gift goes into the cart the moment the goal is reached. The free quantity and what to show when the gift is sold out are set here too.

2. Pick the gift product

In the Shopify product picker that opens, tick the variant to give away and click Select. Then click Save at the top of the page.

  2. 2Click Select (Seç)

3. Check your storefront

When the cart reaches the goal, the gift is added automatically and shows a price of 0. The bar message also tells the shopper the gift is in the cart.

Settings to watch

  • Remove the gift when the cart drops below the goal: Recommended. If it's off, the gift stays in the cart at full price when the shopper removes items.
  • Re-add the gift if the customer removes it: If it's off, a removed gift isn't added back; the shopper can re-add it with one click.
  • Hide the gift's regular price on the bar: Turn on if you don't want to show the gift's value.
  • Make sure the gift product is in stock; choose what to show for a sold-out gift in the sold-out setting.
