Editing message templates
Personalize the message shoppers send on WhatsApp with variables.
Last updated: November 5, 2026
WhatsApp Order builds the shopper's message from a template you define. The variables in the template are filled with product details at the moment of the click. The message isn't sent automatically; the shopper can edit it when WhatsApp opens.
Templates go live on your store with the Pro plan. You can edit them on the Free plan, but your store uses the default messages.
Edit the template
- Open Message Templates from the left menu.
- Choose Turkish or English in the editing language list. Each language has its own template.
- Edit the text in the product message field.
- To add a variable, place the cursor where you want it and click one of the variable buttons below.
- Click Save.
- 1Choose the editing language
- 2Edit the message
- 3Insert a variable
- 4Save
Variables
- {store_name}: Store name
- {product_title}: Product name
- {product_url}: Product link
- {variant_title} and {variant_options}: Selected variant and options such as color or size
- {quantity}: Quantity
- {unit_price} and {line_total}: Unit price and line total
- {currency}: Currency
Empty variables are removed together with their line, so a product without options never shows an empty "Color:" line.
Preview
The sample preview under each template shows how the message will look to the shopper. There is also a separate template for questions about sold-out products.
Reset to default
To start a template over, click the reset to default link under it, confirm the question that appears on the page, then click Save.
Tips for a good template
- Start with a short greeting: "Hi, I'd like to order the product below."
- Put product details on separate lines; they're easier to read in WhatsApp.
- Include the product link so the product stays visible in the chat.
