The WhatsApp button isn't showing

What to check, in order, when the button doesn't appear on your store.

Last updated: November 5, 2026

When the button doesn't show, the cause is almost always a setting. Go through these checks in order.

1. Check the Dashboard

When you open the app, the Status list on the Dashboard shows where the problem is. The WhatsApp number must be saved, the theme app embed must be Active and the button you expect must be On. Any row showing Off or Inactive is where to look. The cart page and cart drawer buttons are off on the Free plan.

  1. 1WhatsApp number saved?
  2. 2Theme app embed Active?
  3. 3Product page button On?
  4. 4Floating button On?

2. Check the app embed

Open the theme editor with Online Store > Edit theme and click the App embeds icon on the left. KODMIL WhatsApp Order must be on; if you use the floating button, WhatsApp floating button must be on as well. If you changed anything, click Save.

  1. 1App embeds
  2. 2KODMIL WhatsApp Order must be on
  3. 3WhatsApp floating button must be on
  4. 4Floating button
  5. 5Save

If you turned the embed on in a different theme, the buttons won't show on your live theme. When you switch themes, repeat this step in the new one.

3. Check Placement Settings

Open Placement Settings in the app and make sure the product page button is on. When Placement is set to automatic, the app embed inserts the button next to the buy buttons. If you chose the app block instead, you need to add the block to the product page in the theme editor; the Add app block link takes you there.

  1. 1Product page button on
  2. 2Placement: automatic or app block
  3. 3Cart button needs Pro

4. Check the floating button

In the floating WhatsApp button section of the same page, the floating button must be switched on and its status must show Active. If it's inactive, click the link to open the theme editor and turn the embed on. Separate desktop and mobile switches are at the bottom of the page.

  1. 1Show the floating button
  2. 2If not Active, open the theme editor

5. Refresh your storefront

After saving, refresh the product page on your storefront. The buttons should look like this. If you still see the old version, your browser cache may be the reason; force a refresh or open the page in a private window.

  1. 1Product page button
  2. 2Floating button

If the button still doesn't show after these steps, open a support ticket and include your theme name and a link to the product page.
